Formulated for the Hardest Cases. Gentle Enough for Every Day.

When I set out to formulate Rika, I had one patient in mind: someone sitting in a radiation treatment chair, coming back five days a week, whose skin was becoming progressively more raw, dry, and reactive—and who deserved something genuinely made for that experience rather than something adapted from general skincare.

To work in that environment, the formulas had to meet a very high bar. Certified organic ingredients only. No synthetic additives, fragrances, or preservatives that could complicate an already stressed skin response. Evidence-informed choices, not trend-driven ones. Simple enough to use consistently, thoughtful enough to make a meaningful difference.

Rika wasn't designed to chase skincare trends—it was designed to solve a very specific problem. That focus shaped every formulation decision that followed.

What I didn't fully anticipate is how many people outside the radiation context would find the same formulas exactly right for them.

The same formulation philosophy that serves radiation-affected skin often makes sense for many other forms of sensitive or compromised skin.

Skin during or after chemotherapy

Although Relief and Recover were originally formulated for radiation-affected skin, many people receiving chemotherapy appreciate the same fragrance-free, additive-free approach.

Perimenopause and menopause-related skin changes

Recover was formulated to provide deep, sustained nourishment using rosehip, sea buckthorn, and carrot seed oil. Restore may also be helpful for external intimate dryness and sensitivity associated with hormonal changes.

Post-procedure skin

Relief's minimalist, fragrance-free formulation is well suited for the recovery period following many cosmetic procedures. Calendula and manuka honey provide gentle, evidence-supported comfort.

Chronically reactive or barrier-compromised skin

People with eczema, rosacea, or other chronic skin conditions should follow the recommendations of their dermatologist. Many people with generally sensitive or barrier-compromised skin appreciate simple, fragrance-free formulations.

Skin during pregnancy and postpartum recovery

Restore may be a helpful option for postpartum external perineal care. Rosehip oil has also been studied for its potential role in supporting the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

Mature or aging skin

Recover emphasizes nourishment and barrier support rather than relying heavily on active ingredients.

Intimate skin sensitivity—beyond radiation

Restore was formulated for external perineal, perianal, and vulvar skin. Zinc oxide provides durable barrier protection while the minimalist formulation avoids unnecessary synthetic additives.

A note on how to use this

Rika products are cosmetic skincare products intended to support skin comfort. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If you're undergoing medical treatment, always follow the recommendations of your healthcare team. The purpose of this article is to explain why the same formulation philosophy that works for radiation-affected skin often appeals to many other forms of skin sensitivity.

Good skincare doesn't have to be complicated. Often, the most helpful formulas are the simplest ones—gentle enough for skin that has been through something, and nourishing enough to become part of everyday life.
